The Stockton Lake area boasts endless miles of beautiful scenery and warm hospitable people. It features recreation, accommodations and dining facilities. If you haven’t already; it is time you discovered the south end of the Lake where a unique experience awaits you. The Town of Greenfield is located 22 miles north of Interstate 44 between Joplin and Springfield, Missouri. Community activities provide fun and enjoyment year round.
There are many campgrounds around the Lake and surrounding area. Hidden just off Highway Y in Dade County is Mutton Creek Marina. The marina is a full service marina with gas dock, pump out stations, ice beer, bait and fishing licenses. Mutton Creek campground has a variety of campsites to suit any type of camper from big RV to tent campers. The campground area offers a self-service laundry mat, private shower house and dry storage. Along with the weekend fun at Mutton Creek, they have a 4th of July Boat Parade and a floating restaurant available.
While you are visiting the south end of the Lake, come by Southwinds Motel and RV Park. 1he campground is in a beautiful wooded setting next to the Southwinds Motel. It is a short walk to the Lake and one of Stockton’s great beaches. Southwinds is also near the Ruark Bluff boat ramp. The motel and campground are open year round with yearly; monthly and daily rates.
On the south end of the lake you will find Son Sac Marine and Convenience Store. Son Sac Marine offers Marine Engine Repairs for Mercury & MercCruiser, Johnson & Evinrude and Force Motors. Son Sac Depot, east of Mutton Creek Marina is a full line convenience store with fast food, storage, fuel, bait & tackle. All your camping and boating needs can be found at Son Sac Depot and Son Sac Marine.
Bait Master’s Convenience Store is conveniently located at the corner of Hwy 123 & 215 in Aldrich. 1hey are open 7 days a week and offer a full line of fishing, fuel, camping, hunting & fishing supplies.
Stowe Yer Boat Boat Storage is 2 ½ miles south of Ruark Bluff on H Hwy toward Greenfield. They have 36 units for your convenience.
Ruark Bluff East and West are the public use areas on the south end of the lake. You will find campgrounds on the water’s edge, boat ramp and swim beach. Greenfield is the closest town to the Ruark Bluff area. Greenfield is a bustling little town where you will find friendly people and many services including restaurants grocery stores, gas stations.
