The Stockton Lake Association

Stockton Lake Association is comprised of local businesses whose goal is to educate our visitors about the lake, promote the businesses that support the community, and help maintain a healthy environment for the Stockton Lake area. We are here to answer your questions and assist you in any way we can to make your visit to our neighborhood more enjoyable.

The land surrounding the lake contains hundreds of acres of native prairie grasses, rolling hills and thick forests that turn crimson in autumn. An abundance of wildlife lives both in and around the water including wild turkey, great blue heron, deer and bald eagles. Visitors can learn about the lake’s bald eagles by attending an annual eagle-watching event during the winter.

Boating is always a popular pastime at the lake. Sail boating is especially popular and the lake hosts several races a year. Check with the Stockton Yacht Club for race dates. The 12 mile run, the open water and the breeze combine to make Stockton Lake is one of the best 10 sailing lakes in the country. If water sports, water skiing, riding a tube or just taking a cruise is your thing, it is easy to find a secluded cove and plenty of pristine water. Stockton Lake is clean, clear and uncrowded.

The waters of Stockton Lake are home to several species of fish including small and largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, catfish and sunfish, making it an ideal area for anglers.

Several trails wind around the lake shore and through the landscape. The Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail continues approximately 15 miles between Hawker Point and Orleans Trail Campgrounds.
