The appeal of the North end of Stockton Lake begins with the majestic beauty of the dam. From the lookout points at the dam, you can see the clean, clear water for miles. The Corps of Engineers has a visitor center at the dam as well as lookout points, shelter houses and Cedar Gap walking trail.
The Nature Educational Art Trail N.E.A.T. has installed the majestic sculpture “EAGLE’ along the Cedar Gap walking trail. Created by Utah sculpture artist Jacob Dean “EAGLE” proudly sits on stone boulders obtained from the local quarry Take a walk on the trail to see this stunning piece of art. Pause a moment to think what it represents to you.
The Corp of Engineers also has a Horse and Hiking trail that begins at Orleans Trail South campground and ends at Hawker Point. That is a good 11 mile ride with camping facilities at both trailheads. This is a great way to see the beauty of Stockton Lake and the woods around it.
On the North end of the lake, The Army Corp of Engineers provides and maintains campgrounds at Orleans Trail North, South and Crabtree Cove. At Orleans Trail public use area you will find two public swim beaches, two paved boat ramps and Group camping. Water and electricity are available at most sites. Call for reservations and availability, the campground are often full on weekends and holidays.
Other campgrounds in this area include Stockton RV Park. This RV park in located near town with easy access to swimming and boat ramp off RB road. The campground offers 26 full hook-up sites, picnic tables and laundry facilities.
Calypso Cove campground on Mo Hwy 32 is near the dam and Crabtree Cove with full service RV sites, tent sites and swimming pool. Laundry and shower house facilities are provided. Sites are available overnight, seasonal or year.
Near Crabtree Cove off Hwy 32, is Steve’s Lil Boat Shop. Steve is there to help with your boat repair.
The Orleans Trail campground has 25 full hook-up sites and 16 electric only sites. They are on the water with courtesy docks. Most sites are well shaded. There is a shower house, laundry facilities and a pool.
If you are looking for accommodations, rather than a campsite, there are several lodging options available. They include vacation homes that are houses or cabins. The Old Country House is over 100 years old and has been in the Gipson family for three generations. Vacationers enjoy sitting on porch to have a cup of coffee and watch children in the backyard and picnic area.
Just north of Stockton is The Sky Ranch Inn, a 5O acre ranch with 3 homes to meet the needs of any size group.
The Cabins at Stockton Lake offers a lodge, and rustically furnished cabins. Amenities for The Cabins include putting green, outdoor fireplace, and a pavilion with outside gaming area and basketball court. We are located one mile from the boat ramp and beach.
Owl Haven Resort is the motel in town yet with a Lake view. It has plenty of space for the largest groups, kitchens, a pool and picnic shelter, playground and boat hookups.
Orleans Trail Resort is located on the water just outside the city limits. It is the largest facility on Stockton Lake with Wi-Fi, 80 rooms, suites and one cabin. The restaurant overlooks the marina with a deck, pool and Convention Center. The 3000 foot Convention Center provides space for family reunions, wedding receptions and business conferences.
Located in the Orleans Trail Restaurant you will find the Beachcomber Bar. Light and airy with seating for 70 guests the Beachcomber Bar provides stunning view of the Lake and the marina.
There are three marinas on Stockton Lake. The marina on the north end is Orleans Trail Marina. It is the largest full service marina on the Lake with just under 500 slips for sailboats, power and fishing boats. It also has boat rental, diver’s air, a gas dock, convenience and bait store. At Orleans Trail Marine you will find factory trained mechanics to keep you up and running and on the Lake.
Spurgeon Yachts, located east of Stockton on Hwy 32 and across from the dam entrance, provides full service boat maintenance, boat sales and service, fiberglass & gelcoat repair, and complete boat restoration.

Approximately 25 miles Northeast of Stockton Lake is the largest town in the area. Bolivar has everything a camper or lake visitor might need. In a quiet country setting Bolivar offers auto repairs, real estate, groceries, health care, hotel, restaurants and emergency services.
